Ironically, when I arrived last night, it was my birthday! So I'm officially 21. Korean age.
My first sleep here wasn't nearly as long as I wanted it to be, but comfy
nonetheless! Two guys that work at the guesthouse were up a couple hours
after me, at 8:30, to make breakfast for everyone. They're so nice! One
has pretty good english, so it's ok for communicating. His name in Hong, and he's just slightly fantastic. He goes to Yonsei, right across the street from EWHA, so we have plenty to talk about. He told me he'd
take me to a music store today, nearby to the guesthouse. Probably a
good idea. Even with directions, it's so easy to get lost here! The
streets all look the same, and street names don't mean nearly as much as
they do in Canada. Turning out to be an interesting experience!
And
while visiting a different country, guesthouses seem to be the way to go. You
meet so many new people! I've already made a friend. Han's living in
Busan right now, but he was visiting Seoul for a conference. I got his
contact info, so when I go visit Busan he can show me around! There are
also four Australian girls here, three that are doing a year in Japan
for school- this would be their vacation- and another who's been here
for a year already. There's also a girl from China, Ming Fang, a guy
from Germany, and a few others who I haven't been introduced to yet.
Shaping up to be a good guesthouse! There's also a girl from France who
is going to EWHA too. We've become quite good friends now. :)
